चिरकारिक भद्रंं ते चिरकारी चिरं भव । चिराय यदि ते सौम्य चिरमस्मि न दुःखित:,“बेटा चिरकारी! तेरा कल्याण हो। तू चिरकालतक चिरकारी एवं चिरंजीवी बना रह। सौम्य! यदि तू चिरकालतक ऐसे ही स्वभावका बना रहा तो मैं दीर्घकालतक कभी दुखी नहीं होऊँगा'
cirakārika bhadraṁ te cirakārī ciraṁ bhava | cirāya yadi te saumya ciram asmi na duḥkhitaḥ ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “Chirakārika, pagpalain ka. Nawa’y manatili kang ‘Chirakārī’—ang kumikilos nang may pagninilay at pag-iingat—at nawa’y humaba ang iyong buhay. O mahinahon, kung magpapatuloy ka sa ganyang likas na ugali sa mahabang panahon, sa mahabang panahon din ay hindi ako madadalamhati.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse praises and blesses the habit of acting with patience and careful deliberation (cirakārī). It implies an ethical ideal: restraint and thoughtful timing in action prevent harm and become a source of lasting peace for oneself and others.
Bhīṣma addresses Chirakārika directly, offering a benediction. He commends Chirakārika’s steady, unhurried disposition and says that if Chirakārika remains true to this nature, Bhīṣma himself will remain free from sorrow for a long time.
