Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
फिर क्रमश: वे सब पक्षी बहुत दिनोंके लिये जाने और आने लगे, अब वे हृष्ट-पुष्ट और बलवान हो गये थे। अत: बाहर निकल जानेपर जल्दी नहीं लौटते थे ।।
kadācin māsamātreṇa samutpatya vihaṅgamāḥ | naivāgacchaṃs tato rājan prātiṣṭhata sa jājaliḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “At paglaon, ang mga ibon ay matagal nang naglalakbay at nagbabalik; sila’y naging malusog, matipuno, at malakas, kaya kapag lumabas sila’y hindi na agad umuuwi. O hari, minsan ang mga ibong naglalakbay sa himpapawid ay lumipad at hindi nagbalik sa loob ng isang buong buwan. Nang makita ito, umalis si Jājali sa pook na iyon at nagtungo sa ibang dako.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights steadiness and non-attachment in dharmic practice: when external supports or expected outcomes do not appear, one should not cling or despair but proceed wisely, adjusting one’s course without abandoning inner discipline.
The birds that had been coming and going stop returning for a month after flying out. In response, the sage Jājali leaves that place and goes elsewhere.
