चिरकारि-उपाख्यानम् / The Exemplum of Cirakārī: Deliberation Before Irreversible Action
अभीत: शुचिरभ्येति राजद्वारमशड्कित: । न हि दुश्चरितं किंचिदन्तरात्मनि पश्यति
abhītaḥ śucir abhyeti rājadvāram aśaṅkitaḥ | na hi duścaritaṃ kiñcid antarātmani paśyati ||
Wika ni Bhishma: Ang taong walang takot at dalisay ay lumalapit sa tarangkahan ng hari nang walang pagdududa o pangamba. Sapagkat sa kanyang kaloob-looban ay wala siyang nakikitang bakas ng masamang gawa; hindi siya sinusumbatan ng kanyang budhi.
भीष्म उवाच
Moral purity produces fearlessness: one who has no wrongdoing on the conscience can face authority openly, because the inner self does not reveal any hidden fault.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and right conduct, Bhīṣma explains to the listener that a person of clean character can approach the king’s court confidently, unlike one burdened by guilt.
