Knowing the subtle principle and the bhūtātman through yoga

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that true spiritual nobility is marked by harmlessness and fearlessness: one who does not inspire fear in others is not, in turn, afraid of them. Such a person, radiant and steady in character, is fit for higher, fear-free realms.

In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and inner discipline, Vyāsa describes the qualities and destiny of an elevated person—luminous, eternal-minded, ancient in wisdom—who reaches innumerable fear-free worlds because he lives without causing fear and therefore remains unafraid.
