निद्रा तन्द्रीरसम्प्रीतिरसूयाथानवेक्षिता । अरतिश्न विषादश्न स्पृहा चाप्यविशन्न तान्
nidrā tandrīr asamprītir asūyāthānavekṣitā | aratiś ca viṣādaś ca spṛhā cāpy aviśan na tān ||
Wika ni Śakra: “Ang antok at labis na tulog, katamaran, kawalan ng galak, inggit, paghahanap ng kapintasan at paghatol na di-pinagninilayan; gayundin ang pagkabalisa, panghihina ng loob, at pagnanasa—hindi makapasok sa kanila ang mga dungis na ito.”
शक्र उवाच
The core teaching is that a disciplined and well-governed mind becomes inaccessible to common inner दोष-s—sloth, envy, careless judgment, dejection, and craving—thereby preserving clarity and dharmic conduct.
Śakra (Indra) is describing the inner condition of certain exemplary persons: he lists negative mental states and declares that these do not ‘enter’ them, highlighting their steadiness and moral-psychological excellence.
