ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana

इदमद्य करिष्यामि श्वः कर्तास्मीति वादिनम्
idam adya kariṣyāmi śvaḥ kartāsmīti vādinam
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Huwag pagtiwalaan ang taong paulit-ulit na nagsasabi, “Gagawin ko ito ngayon; bukas ko gagawin,”—sapagkat ang ganitong pananalita’y nagpapaliban sa tungkulin at nagpapahina sa pasiya. Ang aral ay kumilos nang matatag at napapanahon, hindi nagkukubli sa likod ng mga pangakong laging sa hinaharap.
