Duties of the Brāhmaṇa, āśrama discipline, and praise of giving
एतद् विदित्वा कार्त्स्न्येन यो न मुह्ति मानव: । कुशली सर्वदु:खेषु स वै सर्वधनो नर:
etad viditvā kārtsnyena yo na muhyati mānavaḥ | kuśalī sarvaduḥkheṣu sa vai sarvadhano naraḥ ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Ang ganap na nakaunawa nito at dahil dito’y hindi na nalilinlang kailanman, ay nananatiling matatag at ligtas sa gitna ng lahat ng pagdurusa. Siya lamang ang tunay na ‘mayaman’ sa bawat kahulugan—mayaman sa lakas-loob at yaman ng kalooban, hindi lamang sa ari-arian.”
भीष्म उवाच
Complete understanding of the truth being taught removes delusion (moha). Freedom from delusion makes a person resilient in all sorrows; such steadiness is presented as the highest form of wealth.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the means to peace after the war. Here he concludes a point by stating that one who fully grasps it does not become confused and thus remains secure even amid suffering, embodying true prosperity.
