कालनिर्णयः, युगधर्मवर्णनम्, सृष्टिक्रमश्च
Time-Reckoning, Yuga-Dharma, and the Sequence of Creation
देवराज! समस्त प्राणियोंकी गति जो काल है
ṛtūn māsārdhamāsāṁś ca divasāṁś ca kṣaṇāṁs tathā | pūrvāhṇam aparāhṇaṁ ca madhyāhnam api cāpare ||
Wika ni Śakra: “O Hari ng mga diyos! Ang Panahon ang landas ng lahat ng nilalang; kung hindi mo mararating ang Panahon, saan ka pa pupunta? Hindi ito maiwawaksi ng tao kahit tumakbo—hindi siya makalalayo; at kahit tumigil, hindi rin siya makaliligtas sa pagkakasakmal nito. Ang pandinig at iba pang mga pandama ay hindi kayang danasin ang Panahong nahahati sa buwan, kalahating-buwan, at limang uri ng pagkakahati. May ilan na tumatawag sa diyos na Panahong ito na Agni, at may ilan na Prajāpati. Ang Panahong iyon ang sumusukat at nagdadala sa lahat—sa mga panahon ng taon, sa mga buwan at kalahating-buwan, sa mga araw at maging sa mga saglit; sa umaga, sa hapon, at sa tanghaling-tapat din.”
