Mahābhārata 12.217
प्रकाशं भगवानेतदृषिर्नातयणो5मृतम् । भूतानामनुकम्पार्थ जगाद जगतो गति:,संसारको शरण देनेवाले ऋषिश्रेष्ठ भगवान् नारायणने जीवोंपर दया करनेके लिये ही इस अमृतमय ज्ञानको प्रकाशित किया
prakāśaṃ bhagavān etad ṛṣir nārāyaṇo 'mṛtam | bhūtānām anukampārthaṃ jagāda jagato gatiḥ ||
Wika ni Bhishma: Ang pinagpalang pantas na si Nārāyaṇa—kanlungan ng daigdig at gabay ng landas nito—ay naghayag ng walang-kamatayang aral na ito, at nagsalita dahil sa habag sa lahat ng nilalang.
भीष्म उवाच
That the highest wisdom is revealed not for display or debate, but as an act of compassion—meant to guide beings toward the world’s true refuge and the deathless good.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction during the Śānti Parva, he credits the sage-lord Nārāyaṇa with publicly revealing an ‘immortal’ doctrine, emphasizing that its motive is mercy toward all creatures.
