विप्रचित्तिप्रधानांश्व दानवानसृजदू दनु: । दितिस्तु सर्वानसुरान् महासत्त्वानजीजनत्
Vipracitti-pradhānāṁś ca dānavān asṛjad ū Danuḥ | Ditis tu sarvān asurān mahāsattvān ajījanat ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Si Danu ang nagsilang sa mga Dānava, na pinangungunahan nina Vipracitti at ng iba pa. Ngunit si Diti naman ang naging ina ng lahat ng Asura—mga nilalang na may dakilang lakas at kapangyarihan.
