वरश्न मम पूर्व हि दत्तो देव्या महाबल । श्रद्धा ते जपतो नित्यं भवत्विति विशाम्पते,“महाबली प्रजानाथ! मुझे देवी सावित्रीने वर दिया है कि जपमें तुम्हारी नित्य श्रद्धा बनी रहेगी”
varaśna mama pūrva hi datto devyā mahābala | śraddhā te japato nityaṁ bhavatv iti viśāmpate ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “O makapangyarihan, noong una pa’y pinagkalooban ako ng Diyosa ng isang biyaya: ‘O panginoon ng mga tao, nawa’y manatili sa iyo ang di-natitinag na pananampalataya habang araw-araw mong isinasagawa ang japa (banal na pagbigkas).’”
