Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
Meritorious action (puṇya-karma) shapes one’s post-death destiny: those who live righteously are said to attain rebirth in an especially auspicious and sanctified region, emphasizing ethical conduct and karmic consequence.
In Bharadvāja’s discourse, he identifies a particular ‘northern’ portion of the earth as exceptionally sacred and explains that virtuous people, after death, are reborn there—linking moral life in the present world with a favorable rebirth destination.
