कुरुष्वानुग्रहं सौम्य सत्यमेतद्‌ ब्रवीमि ते । निश्चिता खलु मे बुद्धिरतिथिप्रतिपूजने

Transliteration

kuruṣvānugrahaṃ saumya satyam etad bravīmi te | niścitā khalu me buddhir atithipratipūjane ||

Translation

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “O mahinahong nilalang, ipagkaloob mo sa akin ang iyong pabor; ito ang katotohanang sinasabi ko sa iyo. Matatag ang aking pasiya na parangalan ang panauhin nang may nararapat na paggalang. Kaya ngayong araw, napagpasyahan kong isagawa ang pinakamataas na pagkamapagpatuloy—tanggapin mo ako mismo at mahabag ka sa akin. Ito ang tapat na salitang sinasabi ko sa iyo.”
