Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical weight of speech and the moral sensitivity of a virtuous being: even in confinement and distress, one speaks to uphold dharma and then awaits a responsible, compassionate response from the other party.

A female bird described as an ascetic is trapped in a cage. She speaks sorrowfully to her husband and then looks toward his face, indicating a moment of emotional and ethical tension as she seeks his reaction or guidance.
