वधेन च मनुष्याणां मार्गाणां दूषणेन च । अगाराणां विनाशैश्व॒ परराष्ट्रं विनाशयेत्‌,“मनुष्योंका वध करके, सड़कें तोड़-फोड़कर और घरोंको नष्ट-भ्रष्ट करके शत्रुके राष्ट्रका विध्वंस करना चाहिये

vadhena ca manuṣyāṇāṁ mārgāṇāṁ dūṣaṇena ca | agārāṇāṁ vināśaiś ca pararāṣṭraṁ vināśayet ||

Sinabi ni Bhīṣma na ang kaharian ng kaaway ay maaaring ibagsak sa ganap na kapahamakan sa pamamagitan ng pagpatay sa kanyang mga tao, pagwasak at pagdungis sa mga daan at ruta, at pagwasak sa mga tahanan—mga hakbang na nagpaparalisa sa kaayusang panlipunan at sa kakayahan ng kalaban na makapagpatuloy. Ipinapakita ng pahayag na ito ang isang mabagsik at estratehikong pagtingin sa digmaan, kung saan ang pagpapahina sa imprastruktura at katatagang sibilyan ay itinuturing na daan tungo sa pagbagsak ng kapangyarihang pampolitika, at nagbubukas ng matalim na tensiyong etikal laban sa mas malawak na mga talakayan ng dharma hinggil sa pagpipigil at pag-iingat.
