Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
मयाप्युपायो दृष्टोडयं विचार्य मतिमात्मन: । आत्मार्थ च त्वदर्थ च श्रेयः साधारणं हि नौ
mayāpy upāyo dṛṣṭo ’yaṃ vicārya matim ātmanaḥ | ātmārthaṃ ca tvadarthaṃ ca śreyaḥ sādhāraṇaṃ hi nau ||
Sinabi ni Bhishma: “Matapos kong pag-isipang mabuti sa sarili kong paghatol, nakatagpo rin ako ng isang landas ng pagkilos—na para sa ikabubuti ko at ikabubuti mo. Sapagkat ang kapakinabangang dulot nito ay hindi panig lamang; ito’y kabutihang pinagsasaluhan nating dalawa.”
