एवं त्वमपि कौन्तेय श्रुत्वा वाणीमिमां मम । स्थिरो भव महाराज हिमवानिव पर्वत:,महाराज! कुन्तीकुमार! तुम भी मेरा यह कथन सुनकर आशाको त्याग दो और हिमालय पर्वतके समान स्थिर हो जाओ
evaṁ tvam api kaunteya śrutvā vāṇīm imāṁ mama | sthiro bhava mahārāja himavān iva parvataḥ ||
“Kaya ikaw rin, O anak ni Kuntī, pagkarinig sa mga salitang ito mula sa akin, maging matatag, O dakilang hari—matibay at di matinag gaya ng bundok Himalaya.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma urges the king to cultivate inner steadiness—abandoning wavering hope and desire—and to remain firm in dharma, like an immovable mountain amid changing circumstances.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction section, Bhīṣma addresses Yudhiṣṭhira (Kaunteya) and concludes a piece of counsel by exhorting him to accept the teaching and become resolute and unshaken, using the Himālaya as a model of stability.
