Upāya-dharma and Senāyoga: Expedient Ethics & Army Deployment
अग्रतः पुरुषानीकं शक्तं चापि कुलोद्धवम् | आवासस्तोयवान् दुर्ग: पर्याकाश: प्रशस्यते
agratāḥ puruṣānīkaṃ śaktaṃ cāpi kulodbhavam | āvāsa-stoya-vān durgaḥ paryākāśaḥ praśasyate ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: Dapat ilagay sa pinakaharap ang isang pangkat ng impanterya na kapwa malakas at mula sa marangal na angkan. At upang mapangalagaan laban sa kaaway, pinupuri ang himpilan o kuta ng hukbo kung ito’y mahirap lapitan, napalilibutan ng mga moog na punô ng tubig at mataas na pader, at may maluwang na bukás na paligid—upang mapanatili ang pagtatanggol at pagbabantay nang walang sagabal.
