रणभूमिवर्णनम् — Devāsuropama-yuddha and the ‘River’ Metaphor of the Battlefield

अभ्यवर्तन्त संक्रुद्धा विविधायुधपाणय: । इसी प्रकार रणभूमिमें नाना प्रकारके अस्त्र-शस्त्र लिये क्रोधमें भरे हुए आपके पक्षके दस हजार योद्धा पाण्डवोंका सामना करने लगे

abhyavartanta saṅkruddhā vividhāyudhapāṇayaḥ |

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Sa galit na nag-aalab, tangan ang sari-saring sandata, sumikad sila pasulong—ang mga mandirigma sa iyong panig ay sumuong sa larangan upang harapin ang mga Pāṇḍava. Ipinakikita ng tagpong ito kung paanong ang poot at sigasig-mandirigma ang nagtutulak sa tao sa marahas na sagupaan, nilulunod ang pagpipigil at malinaw na paghatol sa gitna ng kaguluhan ng digmaan.
