Duryodhana-śibira-praveśaḥ — The Pāṇḍavas Enter the Kaurava Camp; The Burning of Arjuna’s Chariot
त्वयाभिसृष्टेन हतः शैनेयेन महात्मना । “बलवान भूरिश्रवाका हाथ कट गया था और वे आमरण अनशनका व्रत लेकर बैठे हुए थे। उस दशामें तुमसे ही प्रेरित होकर महामना सात्यकिने उनका वध किया ।।
tvayābhisṛṣṭena hataḥ śaineyena mahātmanā |
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Sa iyong udyok, pinatay siya ng dakilang-loob na Śaineya (Sātyaki). Ipinahihiwatig nito na ang payo at panunulsol ay maaaring magpasan ng pananagutang moral sa pagpatay na ginawa ng iba, lalo na kung ang biktima ay nasa marupok na kalagayan at nakagapos sa isang panatang-vrata.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights ethical accountability: one who incites or authorizes violence shares responsibility for the resulting act, even if another person performs the killing.
Sañjaya tells Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Śaineya (Sātyaki) killed a foe after being urged on by the person addressed (‘you’), emphasizing the role of instigation in the unfolding violence.
