संजय उवाच रामसांनिध्यमासाद्य पुत्रो दुर्योधनस्तव । युद्धकामो महाबाहु: समहृष्यत वीर्यवान्‌

sañjaya uvāca rāmasānnidhyam āsādya putro duryodhanas tava | yuddhakāmo mahābāhuḥ samahṛṣyata vīryavān ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: “O Hari, nang mapalapit siya kay Balarāma, ang iyong anak na si Duryodhana—makapangyarihan, malalakas ang bisig, at sabik sa labanan—ay napuno ng matinding galak.” Ipinahihiwatig ng taludtod na ang pagkalapit sa isang iginagalang na nakatatanda at makapangyarihang mandirigma ay nakapagpapalakas ng loob, kahit nananatiling mabigat ang usaping-dharma ng digmaan.
