भगो: शापान्महाभाग यदुक्तं ब्रह्मवादिना । महाभाग! फिर वे जैसे आये थे, वैसे लौट गये और अग्निदेव महर्षि भृूगुके शापसे सर्वभक्षी हो गये। उन ब्रह्मवादी मुनिने जैसा कहा था, वैसा ही हुआ ।। तत्राप्याप्लुत्य मतिमान् ब्रह्मयोनिं जगाम ह
bhṛgoḥ śāpān mahābhāga yad uktaṃ brahmavādinā | mahābhāga punaḥ te yathā āyātās tathā nivavṛtuḥ agnidevaś ca maharṣeḥ bhṛgoḥ śāpena sarvabhakṣo 'bhavat | tena brahmavādinā yathoktaṃ tathāiva abhavat || tatra api āplutya matimān brahmayoniṃ jagāma ha ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: “O marangal na ginoo, ang ipinahayag ng pantas na nagsasalita tungkol sa Brahman ay nagkatotoo dahil sa sumpa ni Bhṛgu. Ang mga nilalang na iyon ay nagbalik nang gaya rin ng kanilang pagdating, at si Agni, dahil sa parusa ng dakilang rishi na si Bhṛgu, ay naging ‘tagalamon ng lahat.’ Kaya, gaya ng sinabi ng pantas, gayon nga ang nangyari. At doon din, ang marunong, matapos lumubog at maligo, ay nagtungo sa pinagmulan ni Brahmā.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the moral-cosmic principle that a sage’s truthful utterance and a rishi’s curse are not mere words but forces that unfold as reality; actions and speech aligned with spiritual authority carry inevitable consequences.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that events occurred exactly as a brahmavādin sage had foretold: certain beings returned as they came, and Agni, due to Bhṛgu’s curse, became ‘all-devouring’; additionally, a wise figure is said to have plunged in and proceeded to the ‘brahmayoni,’ the primordial source.
