त्रितः स श्रेष्ठतां प्राप यथैवास्थ पिता तथा । नरेश्वर! उन तीनोंमें भी अपने शुभ कर्म और स्वाध्यायके द्वारा महर्षि त्रितने सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान प्राप्त किया! जैसे उनके पिता सम्मानित थे, वैसे ही वे भी हो गये
tritaḥ sa śreṣṭhatāṃ prāpa yathaivāstha pitā tathā | nareśvara! teṣāṃ tritaye'pi sva-śubha-karmabhiḥ svādhyāyena ca maharṣi-tritaḥ sarvaśreṣṭha-sthānaṃ prāptaḥ | yathā tasya pitā sammānita āsīt tathā sa'pi sammānito'bhavat |
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O hari ng mga tao, sa tatlong iyon, ang rishí na si Trita ang nagkamit ng pinakamataas na dangal sa pamamagitan ng sarili niyang mabubuting gawa at ng svādhyāya—masidhing pag-aaral at pagbigkas ng banal na aral. Kung paanong pinarangalan ang kanyang ama, gayon din siya pinarangalan.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Excellence and social honor are grounded in personal merit—auspicious conduct (śubha-karma) and disciplined sacred study (svādhyāya)—and can equal or surpass inherited status.
Vaiśaṃpāyana tells the king that among a group of three, the sage Trita became foremost due to his good deeds and Vedic study, and he came to be honored just as his father had been.
