Trita in the Well (Udapāna-kathā) — Balarāma’s Tīrtha Observances
अमावास्यां महातेजास्तत्रोन्मज्जन् महाद्युति: | लोकान् प्रभासयामास शीतांशुत्वमवाप च
amāvāsyāṃ mahātejās tatrōnmajjan mahādyutiḥ | lokān prabhāsayāmāsa śītāṃśutvam avāpa ca ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Sa gabi ng amāvāsyā (bagong buwan), ang makapangyarihan at maningning na iyon ay lumubog at naligo roon sa banal na tawiran. Sa gawaing iyon, nakamtan niya ang malamig at nakaaaliw na sinag na tulad ng buwan, at nagsimulang magliwanag sa mga daigdig—muling nahayag ang kanyang karilagan at ganda.
