उपाशाम्यत्‌ ततस्तीव्रं तद्‌ रजो घोरदर्शनम्‌ । ततो<पश्यमहं भूयो द्न्द्युद्धानि भारत,वह भयंकर दिखायी देनेवाली तीव्र धूलि सर्वथा शान्त हो गयी। भारत! राजेन्द्र! तब मैं फिर उस दारुण मध्याह्नकालमें अपने बल और श्रेष्ठताके अनुसार अनेक द्वन्द्युद्ध देखने लगा। योद्धाओंके कवचोंकी प्रभा वहाँ अत्यन्त उज्ज्वल दिखायी देती थी

upāśāmyat tatas tīvraṁ tad rajo ghoradarśanam | tato 'paśyam ahaṁ bhūyo dvandvayuddhāni bhārata ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: “Pagkaraan, ang mabagsik na alikabok na nakapanghihilakbot pagmasdan ay tuluyang humupa. Pagkatapos nito, O Bhārata, muli kong nasilayan ang maraming tunggaliang isa-sa-isa—bawat mandirigma’y nagsisikap ayon sa sariling lakas at kahusayan; at kumikislap ang ningning ng kanilang baluti sa malupit na katanghaliang-tapat ng digmaan.”
