Śalya-hatānantarāṇi: Madrarāja-padānugānāṃ praskandana and the Pandava counter-encirclement (शल्यहतानन्तराणि—मद्रराजपदानुगानां प्रस्कन्दनम्)

ततो रथं युगेषां च च्छित्त्वा भल्लै: सुसंयतै:

tato rathaṃ yugeṣāṃ ca cchittvā bhallaiḥ susaṃyataiḥ

Pagkaraan, sa mga bhalla na palasong tumama nang wasto, pinutol niya ang karwahe at pati ang mga pamatok at mga kabit nito, kaya naparalisa ang pagkilos ng kalaban sa gitna ng labanan—isang gawaing naglilipat sa tunggalian mula sa pagpapakitang-gilas tungo sa mabagsik na etika ng digmaan, kung saan ang pagkaputol sa paraan ng pakikipaglaban ng kaaway ang nagiging pasya.
