शल्यपरिघातः (Śalya Under Encirclement) — Mahābhārata, Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 12

The verse highlights steadfastness in one’s chosen duty: in the heat of a fearsome conflict, neither side yields or turns away. It reflects the Mahābhārata’s recurring tension between valorous resolve (kṣatriya-dharma) and the grim ethical weight of war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the battle has become terrifyingly intense, yet no warrior from either the Kaurava host or the opposing army turns back; the fighting continues without withdrawal.
