Aśvatthāmā’s Stuti of Rudra and Śiva’s Empowerment (सौप्तिकपर्व, अध्याय ७)

भीमोग्रपरिघालातशूलपट्टिशपाणय: । घोररूपा: समाजम्मुर्भूतसड्घा: समन्तत:

sañjaya uvāca |

bhīmogra-parighālāta-śūla-paṭṭiśa-pāṇayaḥ |

ghora-rūpāḥ samājam mur bhūta-saṅghāḥ samantataḥ ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: Mula sa bawat panig ay nagtipon ang mga nakapangingilabot na pangkat ng mga espiritu, tangan ang mga sandatang kakila-kilabot—mabibigat na pamalong bakal, nagliliyab na sulo, mga trident, at mga palakol-pandigma. Ang kanilang mabangis na liwanag ay kumalat sa lahat ng dako. Dumating sila upang masaksihan ang malaking paglipol na magaganap habang natutulog ang mga tao, upang sukatin ang kakila-kilabot na lakas na nasa Aśvatthāmā, at—sa pagpupuri kay Mahādeva—upang palakihin ang madilim na dangal ng anak ni Droṇa.
