सो<यं मत्तो$क्षद्यूतेन मधुवन्न परीक्षते | प्रपातं बुध्यते नैव वैरं कृत्वा महारथै:,वैसे ही यह दुर्योधन जूएके नशेमें इतना उन्मत्त हो गया है कि मधुमत्त पुरुषकी भाँति अपने ऊपर आनेवाले संकटको नहीं देखता। महारथी पाण्डवोंके साथ वैर करके हमें पतनके गर्तमें गिरकर मरना पड़ेगा, इस बातको समझ नहीं पा रहा है

Transliteration

so 'yaṁ matto 'kṣadyūtena madhuvan na parīkṣate | prapātaṁ budhyate naiva vairaṁ kṛtvā mahārathaiḥ ||

Translation

Sabi ni Vidura: “Ang taong ito, lasing sa sugal ng mga dice, ay nalinlang nang gayon na—gaya ng nalalasing sa inuming pulot—hindi na sinusuri ang darating. Hindi niya nakikita ang bangin: na sa pakikipag-alit sa mga dakilang mandirigmang karwahe (ang mga Pāṇḍava), tayo’y patungo sa kapahamakan at kamatayan.”
