गते पितामहे राजा चिन्ताशोकसमन्वित: । निःश्वसन्नुष्णमसकृत्‌ तमेवार्थ विचिन्तयन्‌

Transliteration

gate pitāmahe rājā cintāśokasamanvitaḥ | niḥśvasann uṣṇam asakṛt tam evārthaṁ vicintayan ||

Translation

Nang makaalis na ang kagalang-galang na matanda, si Haring Yudhiṣṭhira—nababalot ng pangamba at dalamhati—ay paulit-ulit na humihinga nang mainit, at iisang bagay ang lagi niyang binabalik-balikan sa isip. Pinagnilayan niya kung paano maiiwasan ng pagsisikap ng tao ang atas ng tadhana, at napagtanto niyang tiyak na mangyayari ang sinabi ng dakilang pantas.
