Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the preceding material as a record of conquest undertaken within a royal-political project. The ethical implication is that power and expansion are to be evaluated in relation to dharma—legitimate rule, restraint, and the purposes for which force is used.

This is a chapter-ending notice stating that the twenty-seventh chapter of the Digvijaya section (within Sabhā Parva), in the context of Arjuna’s campaign of victories over many regions, has been completed.
