sa nīcaiḥ praṇato bhūtvā bahuratnapurogamāḥ | sahadevo nṛṇāṃ devaṃ vāsudevam upasthitaḥ ||

Bowing low in deep humility, with a great store of many jewels brought before him, Sahadeva approached Vāsudeva—the divine lord among men—seeking refuge at his feet. The scene underscores reverence, self-effacement, and the ethical ideal of honoring true greatness with devotion rather than pride.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic humility and devotion: true nobility is shown by bowing to genuine greatness (Vāsudeva) and approaching with reverence rather than ego, even amid wealth and offerings.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Sahadeva, with abundant jewels brought forward as tribute, bows deeply and approaches Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), taking refuge and showing respectful attendance.
