Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ

Commencement of the Regulated Duel

तान्‌ पाद्यमधुपकाह्िन्‌ गवार्हान्‌ सत्कृतिं गतान्‌ | प्रत्युत्थाय जरासंध उपतस्थे यथाविधि,वे पाद्य, मधुपर्क और गोदान पानेके योग्य थे। उनका सर्वत्र सत्कार होता था। उन्हें आया देख जरासंध उठकर खड़ा हो गया और उसने विधिपूर्वक उनका आतिथ्य-सत्कार किया

tān pādyamadhupakārhān gavārhān satkṛtiṃ gatān | pratyutthāya jarāsaṃdha upatasthe yathāvidhi ||

Karapat-dapat silang bigyan ng mga parangal ng pagtanggap—tubig sa paghuhugas ng paa, handog na madhuparka, at kaloob na baka—at saan man ay iginagalang sila. Pagkakita ni Jarāsandha sa kanilang pagdating, tumindig siya upang salubungin sila at, ayon sa nararapat na ritwal, ginampanan ang wastong pag-aasikaso sa mga panauhin.
