Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā
वीर वसुदेवजीकी पत्नियाँ वस्त्र और आभूषणोंसे सज-धजकर हजारों पुत्रवधुओं तथा अन्य स्त्रियोंके साथ अपने पतिकी अरथीके पीछे-पीछे जा रही थीं ।। यस्तु देश: प्रियस्तस्य जीवतो5भून्महात्मन: । तत्रैनमुपसंकल्प्य पितृमेध॑ प्रचक्रिरे,महात्मा वसुदेवजीको अपने जीवनकालमें जो स्थान विशेष प्रिय था, वहीं ले जाकर अर्जुन आदिने उनका पितृमेधकर्म (दाह-संस्कार) किया
yastu deśaḥ priyastasya jīvato ’bhūn mahātmanaḥ | tatraivainam upasaṃkalpya pitṛmedhaṃ pracakrire ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Ang mga asawa ng marangal na si Vasudeva, na nakabihis at nakapalamuti, ay sumunod sa likod ng andas ng kanilang asawa, kasama ang libu-libong mga manugang na babae at iba pang kababaihan. Pagkaraan, dinala siya ni Arjuna at ng iba pa sa mismong pook na pinakamamahal ng dakilang-loob na iyon noong nabubuhay pa; at doon nila isinagawa ang pitṛmedha—ang huling ritwal ng libing sa pamamagitan ng pagsusunog—upang parangalan siya nang nararapat at may pag-alaala.
