Educational Q&A

Even sanctified spaces and established rites cannot shield a community when collective adharma and the ripening of karma have set destruction in motion; ominous dreams function as moral warnings of an approaching collapse.

A series of inauspicious portents is being described: in dreams, dreadful vultures enter consecrated homes with the household sacred fire and devour members of the Vṛṣṇi and Andhaka clans, foreshadowing the imminent downfall of the Yādavas in the Mausala Parva.
