उत्पातदर्शनम् — Portents and Kāla among the Vṛṣṇis
ततः प्रभासे न्यवसन् यथोद्दिष्टं यथागृहम् | प्रभूतभक्ष्यपेयास्ते सदारा यादवास्तदा,उस समय स्त्रियोंसहित समस्त यदुवंशी प्रभासक्षेत्रमें पहुँचकर अपने-अपने अनुकूल घरोंमें ठहर गये। उनके साथ खाने-पीनेकी बहुत-सी सामग्री थी
tataḥ prabhāse nyavasan yathoddiṣṭaṃ yathāgṛham | prabhūtabhakṣyapeyās te sadārā yādavās tadā ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pagdating sa Prabhāsa, nanirahan ang mga Yādava ayon sa naunang itinakda, bawat isa sa nakalaang tirahan. Noon, kasama nila ang kanilang mga asawa at may saganang baon na pagkain at inumin.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when life appears orderly—families settled and provisions abundant—ethical vigilance remains necessary. The Mausala narrative uses this calm, prosperous arrival at a sacred place to foreshadow how unchecked pride, intoxication, and the ripening of past actions can overturn stability.
The Yādavas arrive at the sacred site of Prabhāsa and lodge according to prior arrangements, each in his own dwelling, accompanied by their wives and carrying plentiful food and drink. This sets the scene immediately before the events that lead to their internal collapse.
