The Commencement of the Great Departure
श्वा चैवानुययावेक: प्रस्थितान् पाण्डवान् वनम् | क्रमेण ते ययुर्वीरा लौहित्यं सलिलार्णवम्
śvā caivānuyayāv ekaḥ prasthitān pāṇḍavān vanam | krameṇa te yayur vīrā lauhityaṃ salilārṇavam ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Nang ang mga Pāṇḍava ay tumulak patungo sa gubat sa kanilang huling paglalakbay, isang aso ang sumunod din sa kanila. Sa paglakad na paisa-isang hakbang, ang mga bayaning iyon ay nakarating sa tubig ng Lauhitya—malawak na wari’y dagat—isa pang hanggahan sa kanilang landas ng pagtalikod.
