तथा सा पतिता देवी गान्धारी दीर्घदर्शिनी । शुशोच बहुलालापै: कर्णस्य निधन युधि,इसी तरह दूरतक सोचनेवाली गान्धारी देवी भी पछाड़ खाकर गिरीं और बहुत विलाप करती हुई युद्धमें कर्णकी मृत्युके लिये शोक करने लगीं
tathā sā patitā devī gāndhārī dīrghadarśinī | śuśoca bahulālāpaiḥ karṇasya nidhanaṃ yudhi ||
Gayon din, ang marangal na Reyna Gāndhārī, bantog sa malayong pagtanaw, ay napabagsak sa dalamhati. Sa maraming panaghoy, iniyakan niya ang pagkamatay ni Karṇa sa larangan ng digmaan.
