भीम: क्रोधाग्निरक्ताक्ष: क्रुद्धः काल इवाबभौ | उन महारथियोंके चलाये हुए बाणोंद्वारा चारों ओरसे रोके जानेपर भीमसेनकी आँखें क्रोधसे लाल हो गयीं और वे कुपित हुए कालके समान प्रतीत होने लगे
bhīmaḥ krodhāgniraktākṣaḥ kruddhaḥ kāla ivābabhau |
Sabi ni Sañjaya: Si Bhīma, na ang mga mata’y namula na wari’y sinilaban ng apoy ng poot, ay sumiklab sa galit at nagmistulang si Kāla (Kamatayan) mismo. Bagaman napipigil sa lahat ng panig ng mga palasong pinakawalan ng mga dakilang mandirigmang-karwahe, lalo lamang tumindi ang kanyang poot, animo’y katawang-tao ng di-maiiwasang paglipol sa digmaan.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how unchecked anger can transform a warrior into a force of blind inevitability—‘like Kāla’—suggesting both the terrifying power of wrath and the moral danger of being consumed by it, even within the framework of a dharma-yuddha.
Sañjaya describes Bhīma on the battlefield: despite being surrounded and restrained by volleys of arrows from great chariot-warriors, Bhīma’s eyes turn red with rage and he appears like Death itself, signaling an imminent, fearsome counterattack.
