कृतं प्रविहतं बाणै: सर्वतः प्रद्रुत॑ दिश: । किरीटधारी अर्जुनने आपकी सेनाको पीस डाला, चला दिया, विध्वस्त कर दिया, बाणोंसे बींध डाला और सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंमें भगा दिया
kṛtaṁ pravihataṁ bāṇaiḥ sarvataḥ pradrutaṁ diśaḥ | kirīṭadhārī arjunaḥ senāṁ te pīṣayām āsa calayām āsa vidhvaṁsayām āsa bāṇair viddhvā ca samantataḥ diśo 'drāvayat ||
Wika ni Sanjaya: “Si Arjuna, ang may suot na diadema, ay pinabagsak ang iyong mga kawal sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga palaso—dinurog at winasak, tinuhog nang tumatagos, at itinaboy na tumakas sa lahat ng dako. Gumuho ang kaayusan ng labanan sa tindi ng kanyang disiplinado at walang patid na paglusob.”

The verse highlights how disciplined prowess in a dharmic war can decisively break an army’s cohesion. Ethically, it underscores the harsh reality of kṣatriya-duty: when battle is joined, skill and resolve can determine outcomes, and the collapse of morale is as consequential as physical defeat.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna, identified by his diadem, has overwhelmed the opposing host with a storm of arrows—crushing, piercing, and scattering the troops so that they flee in all directions.
