Shloka 16

न चाभिनन्दामि तवाधिराज्यं यतस्त्वमक्षेष्वहिताय सक्त: । स्वयं कृत्वा पापमनार्यजुष्ट - मस्माभिर्वा तर्तुमिच्छस्यरींस्त्वम्‌,मैं तेरे राज्यका अभिनन्दन नहीं करता; क्योंकि तू अपना ही अहित करनेके लिये जूएमें आसक्त है। स्वयं नीच पुरुषोंद्वारा सेवित पापकर्म करके अब तू हमलोगोंके द्वारा शत्रुसेनारूपी समुद्रको पार करना चाहता है

arjuna uvāca | na cābhinandāmi tavādhirājyaṃ yatastvam akṣeṣv ahitāya saktaḥ | svayaṃ kṛtvā pāpam anāryajuṣṭam asmābhir vā tartum icchasy arīṃs tvam ||

Wika ni Arjuna: “Hindi ko ipinagbubunyi ang iyong pagiging panginoon, sapagkat nalululong ka sa sugal ng dice hanggang sa ikapapahamak mo. Ikaw mismo ang gumawa ng kasalanan—gawang kinahihiligan ng mga hamak—at ngayo’y nais mong kami ang magpatawid sa iyo sa dagat na wari’y hukbo ng mga kaaway.”
