अन्यदादत्त वेगेन धनुर्भारसहं नवम् | शत्रुसूदन धृष्टद्युम्नने उस कटे हुए धनुषको फेंककर वेगपूर्वक दूसरा धनुष हाथमें ले लिया, जो भार सहनेमें समर्थ और नवीन था
anyad ādatta vegena dhanur-bhāra-sahaṃ navam |
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Itinapon ni Dhṛṣṭadyumna ang busog na naputol, at agad na kumuha ng isa pa—bago at kayang tiisin ang bigat at higpit ng hatak—na nagpapakita ng kanyang matatag na loob at kahandaang ipagpatuloy ang labanan nang hindi sumusuko sa anumang sagabal.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights resilience and steadiness in duty: when a weapon is lost or broken, a warrior does not collapse into despair but promptly equips himself again and continues to act according to his role and responsibility.
In the midst of battle, Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s bow has been cut. He throws it away and immediately, with great speed, takes up a new bow strong enough to withstand the strain, preparing to continue fighting.
