अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च
Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
युधिष्ठिरोडपि संग्रामे प्रहारैगाढ्वेदन: । क्रोशमात्रमपक्रम्य तस्थौ भरतसत्तम
yudhiṣṭhiro 'pi saṅgrāme prahārair gāḍha-vedanaḥ | krośa-mātram apakramya tasthau bharata-sattama ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Maging si Yudhiṣṭhira, sa gitna ng labanan, ay tinamaan ng maraming hampas at dumanas ng matinding kirot. Umatras siya nang may isang krośa mula sa sagupaan at tumindig na hiwalay—O pinakadakila sa angkan ng Bharata.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that dharma in war is not abstract: even a righteous king must reckon with bodily suffering. It points to the ethical gravity of violence and the human limits that shape decisions on the battlefield.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira has been heavily struck and is in severe pain. He withdraws roughly a krośa from the main fighting and stands apart, indicating a temporary retreat due to injury.
