तद् बल॑ पाण्डुपुत्रस्य द्रोणपुत्रप्रतापितम्
tad balaṁ pāṇḍuputrasya droṇaputrapratāpitam
Wika ni Sañjaya: “Ang hukbo ng anak ni Pāṇḍu—ang lakas at loob nito—ay nayanig at napasailalim sa matinding pagdiin dahil sa kapangyarihan ng anak ni Droṇa.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how martial prowess can decisively shift the balance of battle, reminding the listener that strength and strategy—when wielded by a formidable warrior—can overwhelm even a renowned side; it also underscores the Mahābhārata’s ethical tension between valor and the destructive momentum of war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pāṇḍava force (associated with Pāṇḍu’s son) is being severely pressured and subdued by the battlefield might of Droṇa’s son, Aśvatthāmā.
