This verse functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it marks closure and emphasizes that the preceding section is a focused dialogue (saṃvāda) between Karṇa and Śalya, highlighting the epic’s method of conveying ethical and strategic tensions through conversation.
Sañjaya concludes the thirty-seventh chapter of the Karṇa Parva, indicating that the episode centered on the Karṇa–Śalya dialogue has ended and the narration will proceed to the next unit.
