Karna Reproves Shalya; Brahmin Reports on Bāhlīkas; Shalya’s Universalizing Rebuttal
kriyatām eṣa kāmo me mā vaḥ kālo 'tyagād ayam |
The verse stresses decisive action and the ethical urgency of seizing the right moment: a leader should not let time be wasted when a clear resolve and strategic necessity are at hand.
Karna addresses the king, pressing him to implement a specific arrangement or plan immediately, insisting that his intention be fulfilled and that the present opportunity not be allowed to pass.
