Karna Reproves Shalya; Brahmin Reports on Bāhlīkas; Shalya’s Universalizing Rebuttal (कर्ण–शल्य संवादः)
एवमुक्तस्तथेत्युक्त्वा सोडनुजज्ञे नृपोत्तमान् तेडनुज्ञाता नृपा: सर्वे स्वानि वेश्मानि भेजिरे
evam uktas tathety uktvā so 'nujajñe nṛpottamān | te 'nujñātā nṛpāḥ sarve svāni veśmāni bhejire ||
Nang masabihan nang gayon, sumagot si Duryodhana, “Gayon nga,” at pinahintulutan ang mga pangunahing hari na umurong upang magpahinga. Nang matanggap ang pahintulot, ang lahat ng mga pinuno ay bumalik sa kani-kanilang himpilan sa kampo.
संजय उवाच
Even in a setting dominated by war, the epic highlights ordered conduct: authority is exercised through clear assent and formal permission, reflecting kṣatriya etiquette and the maintenance of hierarchy and discipline.
After being addressed in counsel, Duryodhana agrees (“tathāstu”) and dismisses the assembled kings to rest; they then return to their own quarters/camps.
