भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
विपाटितविचित्राभि: कुथाभिरड्कुशैस्तथा । ग्रैवेयैश्षित्ररूपैश्व॒ रुक्मकक्ष्याभिरेव च,चारों ओर गजराजोंके घंटे पड़े हुए थे। हाथियोंकी पीठपर बिछाये जानेवाले फटे हुए विचित्र कम्बल और अंकुश सब ओर गिरे हुए थे। गलेके विचित्र आभूषण और सुनहरे रस्से भी जहाँ-तहाँ बिखरे पड़े थे

vipāṭita-vicitrābhiḥ kuthābhir aṅkuśais tathā |
graiveyaiś citra-rūpaiś ca rukma-kakṣyābhir eva ca ||
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “Sa paligid ay nakahandusay ang mga nalaglag na kampana ng mga elepanteng panginoon. Ang mga punit na makukulay na sapin at ang mga pang-udyok na kawit ay nagkalat sa lahat ng dako; gayundin ang sari-saring palamuti sa leeg at mga sinturong ginto ay nakahambalang sa paligid.”
