The Duel of Abhimanyu and Alambusa
with Arjuna’s approach to Bhīṣma

As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction but through framing: it underscores that the war’s events unfold within a larger moral and fated order (dharma and destiny), where pivotal figures like Bhīṣma and extraordinary warriors like Ghaṭotkaca become instruments in the epic’s ethical reckoning.
This line marks the close of a chapter, identifying its placement in Bhīṣma Parva and the Bhīṣma-slaying section, and noting that the events belong to the eighth day of the Kurukṣetra war and include the episode of Ghaṭotkaca’s combat.
