प्रासानुत्कृत्य तरसा स्वशरीरादरिंदम: । तैरेव ताडयामास सुबलस्यात्मजान् रणे,शत्रुओंका दमन करनेवाले इरावानने अपने शरीरसे वेगपूर्वक प्रासोंको निकालकर उन्हींके द्वारा रणभूमिमें सुबलपुत्रोंपर प्रहार किया
prāsān utkṛtya tarasā svaśarīrād arindamaḥ | tair eva tāḍayāmāsa subalasya ātmajān raṇe ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Si Irāvān, ang tagapagpasuko ng kaaway, ay mabilis na hinugot ang mga sibat mula sa sarili niyang katawan; at sa labanan, gamit ang mismong mga sibat na iyon, tinamaan niya ang mga anak ni Subala.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya steadfastness: even when wounded, a warrior is expected to maintain courage and presence of mind, turning adversity into action. It reflects the battlefield ethic where endurance and retaliatory duty are praised within the war context.
Irāvān has been pierced by spears; he forcefully pulls them out of his own body and immediately uses those same spears to strike the sons of Subala in the midst of battle, as Sañjaya reports.
